June Virgin flights - any news on cancellations?
Just wondered if any of you who booked Virgin flights for June to MCO have heard anything yet?
Am keen to get new dates booked but equally don't want to lose out on the chance of a refund if they offer it! (albeit with a 90 day wait for a refund) |

I should have been flying on the 2nd June, I was contacted last week and offered either a refund (in full) or I could rebook. I have now rebooked for March next year. They don't really communicate much, just an email to say your flight is cancelled and offer you ways to rebook or request a refund and I then went only 'my booking' to find they had changed my flight for me already, same dates and same cabins. I then go to choose my seats on line. No person actually made contact with me personally but I don't mind, at least I know I am rebooked.

I was contacted 4 days ago to say my 29th June MAN-MCO was cancelled. Are you on a MAN flight? You should have been contacted by now if you are.

Sadly I booked with an agent called jetabroad who said they won’t answer any enquiries until 72 hours before travel

Thats ridiculous customer service! How can they expect you to wait until 72 hours before when they and you know full well flights are cancelled. I would approach them again and tell them that you are aware the flights are already cancelled and so they need to refund you as they will not be able to provide you with what you have paid for.

Thanks everyone. Is there an official announcement from Virgin stating they are cancelling the flights until July 13th that I can forward onto them? I guess they are in their rights to change us to a different airline if they can find one operating the route.

If you check your flight number on the flight status checker on VA website you will see if your flight is cancelled or still showing. As already said on this thread VA have cancelled most flights up to 13th July. Our July 4th flight is cancelled and we received an email from virgin confirming it on Monday.
