My late, ex-mother in law once gave me a horrible, green plastic cotton-wool ball holder, half-full of dusty cotton-wool balls. It was revolting.

I re-wrapped it and gave it her back the Christmas after. She was too polite (read "stuck up") to say anything.

Chortle.

My thankfully now ex-mother in law has over the years bought me size 16 big pants (im a 12 and dont wear "big" pants!) and a size 18-20 nylon nightie - both from Peacocks!

She would also by my DS (not her natural gs) some old sh**te whilst getting her natural gs about £200 worth of presents!

She actually really hated us both!

My sister in law gave me a voucher towards a face lift... never had any cosmetic surgery unlike her, she is full of plastic and her lips, to me are awful... we hardly speak now, the odd word at Christmas, very vain woman, take me as you find me, I also have a lot of health problems and would not under go surgery, unless I had to.

My hubby bought me a stainless steel bread bin our first Christmas. We had only been married 3 weeks and he thought it would be nice as it matched a pedal bin bought as wedding present. He never made such a mistake in the following 50 yrs 😂

I was about 19 and a size 14 and my nana got me an old lady nightie in a size 22 and then argued with me that there was no way I was a 14 and that it would fit me fine. She also gave me a royal jelly bath set with her name written on it.
