Shark lift away pet version, two shedding dogs it works a treat, easy to maintain, any issues they send you replacement parts straight away, very good customer service, I was a Dyson fan for years, shark in my humble opinion is way better

I must be the only person that prefers Dyson over Shark?! I have the Lift Away Shark and I love the design and the ease of using tools and the actual lift away Option. I find that it leaves crumbs on the floor. It’s just not that effective at picking up? I have cleaned it regularly etc. I much prefer my ancient cordless Dyson (v6) which I have to use to get the bits the Shark missed.

I also hate Henry which I know is controversial 😬

So for me OP it’s Dyson alllll the way. (Although now off to look at the Meile... )

Used to have a dyson roller ball, but last year switched to a shark corded model. It’s way better in terms of suction, but when we first got it noticed it was a bit heavy/ harder to manoeuvre... don’t notice that now though.

However, for the past few months it wasn’t picking up properly (at the point of having it for about a year) and it turned out that the little rubber things around the wheels had disintegrated so the bottom of the vacuum was basically scraping across the floor. I called shark who at first said it was wear and tear. Second call they agreed to replace the bottom bit, and it came a few days later and I’ve noticed the wheel design has changed. Now working brilliantly again.

MIL bought the cordless shark after we got ours Because she loved everything about ours except ours was a bit too heavy for her, and she loves it. I’ve tried hers and I’m even thinking of getting one as it’s much easier for getting up the stairs etc.

I have used Dyson for years, various models. I currently have a pet model, V8 I think, but not getting on with it and have said I would like to get something else.

It picks up ok, but emptying it requires us using a knife to prise the contents out and it also blocks very quickly, I would say, I can only vacuum for about ten seconds at a time before having to take the attachment off and unblock it. This is mainly due to a shedding dog, but I do have the so called pet version.

This may be the issue
We tend to go more basic, we don't have pets and mainly have wooden floors , so dont feel we should need to for the all singing and dancing models

It's a tough one as I have lost track of how many £100-£150 vacuums we have had- dyson, vax , Electrolux, Hoover, shark.
Never been pleased with any of them.
But don't feel I should have to pay top whack for something when all I should need is the basic.
If I did pay top whack it would probably still end up on the scrap pile

Just bought the Shark basic one - on sale at £149 - hope it’s good. We don’t have pets or anything and all out at work all day so not really heavy duty required just need a new hoover.

So the first picture is the whole hoover then the second picture is the “lift away” so you would take it off so you just have that little canister thing - leaving the floor roller thing. (and the hose is adaptable to either the long tube or just the “elasticated” part) for when you hoover the stairs or curtains or car etc

PLUS it has little headlights on which are really good say when you hoover near the skirting board or like I’m the kitchen under the cupboards.
