I have also noticed an increase of birds of prey too.
We often see them and the crows hassling buzzards but they leave the red kites alone for some reason!
There is also a big landfill about 10 miles away so they could be living there!

A busy birdy garden here. I just sat outside to eat my lunch and saw 2 robins, blackbirds galore and some serious fisty cuffs between a pigeon and a magpie.

We were just saying today that we can hear the birds more its lovely as i don't normally hear this unless i'm up at my caravan (i don't like it at 4am when ive hardly slept mind you)had sparrows in the garden and that there are less seagulls in our area. The one bird i certainly want to see less of is a damn crow, its huge and it keeps throwing itself at my patio door (think its after my dog as it sits and taunts him on the fence) and has cost me £30 for new windscreen wipers due to it pecking at them!

We get loads of birds here, opposite a Cemetery so loads of trees and undisturbed for most of the time, trees at the back of the house with a school.

Owls, Magpies, Robins, Pidgeons are plentiful. For the last couple of weeks we've had a Greater Spotted Woodpecker cutting itself a nesting hole in the tree at the end of the garden.

Working from home I'm out in the garden for a coffee most days, the range of calls is amazing. it's only when you have so much time at home that you pick up on things that are there all the time.
I've been looking up birdcalls so can pick out a few before I even see them.
