Esta refused mental illness

Hello, I've not been on for a while but I'm in need of your advice! My friend is due to fly out in 15wks and has had her esta refused as she has dementia! Is it possible for her to get an appointment at the embassy and get a visa in time? They are going to ring first thing but I was hoping someone would have experience in this, thanks in advance

The only people that can answer that accurately would be the embassy themselves.

n would I check the box "yes" for the portion of question "A" that asks about a physical or mental disorder?

Answer "yes" if you:#

have a physical or mental disorder and behavior associated with the disorder that may pose or has posed a threat to the property, safety or welfare of the individual or others; orhave had a physical or mental disorder and a history or behavior associated with the disorder that has posed a threat to the property, safety or welfare of the individual or others and which behavior is likely to recur or lead to other harmful behavior.

Answer "No" if:

You currently have no physical or mental disorders; orYou have or had a physical or mental disorder without associated behavior that may pose or has posed a threat to your property, safety or welfare or that of others; orYou currently have a physical or mental disorder with associated behavior, but that behavior has not posed, does not currently pose nor will pose a threat to your property, safety or welfare or that of others; orYou had a physical or mental disorder with associated behavior that posed a threat to your property, safety or welfare or that of others, but that behavior is unlikely to recur.

I suspect she could have answered no.

However, once you've been refused I'm not sure if its possible to reapply.

It is supposed to be faster to get a Visa if you go to Belfast if that's an option.

It looks like you can try and reapply.

Thanks for your replies! I know the embassy are the only ones who can answer accurately I just thought someone on here may have been in the same situation and I could of given her some reassurance that it may be doable in less than 6mths tonight

I think your friend in being totally honest about her medical condition has declared her mental illness where I suspect she shouldn't have, if that makes sense especially reading the script bev posted on her reply. I hope somebody can come along and clarify things for you and your friend.

Without knowing how severe she is, it is difficult to say but I agree with bev - she could possibly be a 'no' on this question.

Has your friend read the full declaration before choosing Yes or No? I know it is only to easy to skim over questions Nd just read the first sentence. Does the whole statement describe her?
If not, I'd reapply and answer the statement which best describes her.
