Your average daily step count

Hi everyone!

I've been trying to be healthier lately so I've dug my fitbit out and I'm tracking steps. Thing is I find it hard to rack them up! On an average day I do a 45 minute walk through woods or similar, a shorter 20/30 minute evening walk and then a 10 minute stroll before bed to encourage the dog to toilet. I'm scraping 8000 a day. I guess it's because the dog stops all the time to sniff so I could be going faster, and when he's older I'll be able to walk further and faster. Also I'm on my bum the rest of the day at my desk.

How many steps do you average a day?

According to my Galaxy watch, I'm on 12613 as an average for the last week. Always try and get 10k min.
I usually need to use the post box most days for work, so will walk there, and then have the dog out for an hour or so later in the day.

Depends ... pre lockdown it would average 8 -10k.

In lockdown anywhere between 3 - 16k! Depends on whether I get out and walk!

its an odd one. I use the step counter on my iphone. Not convinced its accurate. The aim is 10 000 steps a day. Until earlier this week my daily walk was on the golf course which I live next to. Fifty yards of grass between my house and the course.

I would walk a route each day only changing the direction I went round the route. I walked at a good speedly pace and the route came out at around 5000 steps. Now the course is open I get to play golf again. Its 9 holes only till the end of this week. My pace is nowhere near as fast, lots of stops to actually play the game but my steps are 8000-9000. More steps yes but it doesn't feel like I have actually done the same level of exercise.

I’m a postie and do about 25,000 steps a day! However if I’m off it’s no where near that, although I do always do at least 10,000.

Between 10k & 16k . I make sure I get in a minimum of 70k per week but it's sometimes more. I've done it since beginning of January, and have only fell a bit short short about twice..

My average was 16338 when my weekly report came through on Monday.
My days are different on wed and yesterday just over 25000,but most other days this week range from 15-20000.
This is hugely due to the challenges set up each week,as I am competitive and they really motivate me.

Mine vary between 5,000 and 12,000. I try to aim for 10,000 but don’t always manage it.

Pre lockdown it was about 6k a day just at work, weekends and at the caravan would average 10-15k a day. Now i'm doing less than 1k and that is usually chasing the dogs. Be going back up now i can leave the house and will be returning to work tomorrow- by how much i do not know because its a different world to the one i left 75 days ago.
