Who has a nice lawn?
I am trying to get our front lawn in better condition. I put weed & feed on at the beginning of lockdown. Watered it when its dry/hot snd put after cut care down after it is cut.
It is looking a lot better and greener however I still have some clover patches 😡 We could have ripped it up and replaced with new turf with the amount of money i have spent trying to fix it. Our back garden lawn was more weed than grass, plus it was very uneven so that has been ripped up. New turf is arriving next week. We back onto the railway lines and the land there (Behind our fence) is a mass of weeds, i am sure this makes our back garden worse as all our neighbours suffer with weeds 😳 So I obviously want to keep the new turf in tip top condition and continue my battle with the front lawn. Any hints, tips? What do you do to keep the lawn lush, green & weed free? |

Ours is not perfect by any means, but it has improved since we have been getting seasonal treatments from Green Thumb, about £20 3 or 4 times a year.

We have green thumb lawn treatments regularly but, they said its not a magic wand, watering is the key, every day if possible. And dont cut it too short. If you want to go advanced, get it scarified too.
If you have a female dog, get the charcoal bricks that go in their water that neutralise their urine to keep the lawn green.

Hi for basics, rake in spring and feed as you have done, don’t cut to short and it will resist weeds, in autumn scarify and take away debris, autumn feed. This should be a good help for starters

Our lawn isn't good, but not so much because of our dog but because of the lack of rain. Our neighbour waters their lawn with a hose and I feel guilty doing that because although we're not on a water meter it seems a waste of so much water (perhaps I'm going soft).

I have read quite a few times about cutting the lawn too short as it exposes the soil to weeds ?
Our lawn mower just cuts cuts with no choice of cut. Its a really, really old lawn mower. Do new models have a hight adjustment feature? |
