Mobile Sky Fibre broadband help needed - ONT

Just wondered if anyone can help. I called Sky today to move our broadband back. Currently have fibre with Now (I know it's Sky) but can get faster broadband with Sky for not much more. I signed up but now I'm concerned as they said an engineer needs to visit and put a new socket in. From the email it appears this is an ONT and I wondered if anyone has had one installed by Sky and could let me know how big this is or post a picture. It says it will be fitted near our main socket and needs power. As it is our main socket at the moment appears to be in our bedroom but is down the side of our wardrobe so very difficult to access. We also have a socket in the hall where you would expect a main socket to be and I'm hoping they might be able to swap this and put it there. This is also in a small cupboard and we're not sure how much room it would take? What about outside can anyone tell me what they put outside and did it involve a lot of digging? I'm a bit worried now about what they'll say when they come out and whether it is going to be too much hassle at the moment with covid. We front on to a public block paved footpath.
Would appreciate any advice as I just expected to be sent a new modem and was surprised when they wanted to send an engineer. We're tempted to cancel for now and stick with Now on a new deal if that will be easier.
Thanks

I assume you are going to a full fibre connection (FTTP)?

This link will give you and idea of the potential sizes of the boxes needed to be fitted. community.sky/t5/Sky-Q/d...b/td-p/3434163

Couple of things... what's an ONT? And what do mean by "your main socket appears to be in our bedroom? I think you may have misunderstood and whatever this ONT thing is needs access to a mains socket, which just means any electric socket.

Thanks. I presume so, I'm clueless about technology.

ONT is an Optical Network Terminator.

No idea really what an ONT is. Just looked again and I mean master socket, I presume this is the master phone socket. The big phone socket that the modem also plugs directly into and I think is the master socket is in the bedroom and hard to reach.

They will work out how to best fit it all, so let them come as see.

You are lucky to be able to get FTTP so early in the roll out. Would be a shame not to take advantage.

Master socket is most likely the hall one.

Thanks just a bit concerned about the size of it all as there isn't a lot of space where it would go in the hall cupboard and don't want cables everywhere. Also concerned about outside as I think a few people in our street might have had it fitted recently as openreach seemed to have roadworks outside for days.
Also does anyone know if you can still use a mesh system like tenda easily by plugging into the hub as this is what we have at the moment?
