2 adults at Port Orleans - FQ or RS
Hi All
Husband and I will be doing Disney without the kids next year (all grown up and moved away / at uni). As a treat we have decided to stay onsite for the first time. We have decided PO is the best option for us, with an upgrade to DDP from QSP. We had always liked the look of POR as we felt it looked more peaceful. However FQ constantly seems to be the preferred option and also gets the best reviews on tripadvisor. I would love to know what your opinions are please. POFQ or POR for a middle age child free couple TIA |

Very subjective but I’ve stayed at both a few times and prefer POR. For me it has; better food court, bigger pool, quiet pools, better walking opportunities, bigger shop, on site table service restaurant, really fun bar with Ye Haw Bob some nights. That said DH would choose POFQ. He’d say. Small resort; only one bus stop, preferable theming. You can use the facilities at either. Both have a boat to Disney Springs. POFQ slightly closer.

I haven't stayed there, only visited. As the above poster said, it's very subjective. I would say FQ is a much smaller, intimate resort and easier to get around while POR is very spread out so you could be walking a fair way just to get your coffee in the morning.

We prefer FQ for the same reasons already covered! Its a much smaller resort so no hike to the bus or facilities.

DH and I have only stayed at POR, but visited FQ while we were there. Personally, we preferred the feel of Riverside. We liked that it's a sprawling resort, thought the food options were better and preferred the theming. It definitely felt quieter than FQ too. We liked it so much we're headed back next month!

This will be 5th time at POFQ. Have stayed at movies and music.Riverside is okay but more spread out. FQ is compact and probably a 5 minute walk from one side to the other and obviously you can get to Riverside by walking and use their facilities. We have been their 4 times as a couple. It can get busy at meal times but you can always find somewhere to sit. We love using the boat to go to Disney Springs. We always think about going to another resort but end up going back.

As many have said before, it is subjective. November will be our 4th time staying at FQ as a couple and it always feels like 'home' to us. We love the size of the Resort and the themeing is more to our taste. Yes, the food court isn't huge but we have never struggled for choice or for somewhere to grab a seat. A couple of times we have taken the bus from the parks back to Riverside and grabbed some food there before strolling along the river back to FQ.

Yep no more than 10 mins
FQ is lovely but RS has the smaller quiet pools you might appreciate more, though you can obviously walk to them. |
