Make sure to wear proper trainers!
And don't miss the welcome show at Magic Kingdom on your first day, great start to the holiday!

I wish I'd known how smoothly everything would work. I worried about all the bookings I'd made and getting to places on time. It was easy and we never had a problem with any of our adrs or activities.

Free iced water from quick service places - v handy!
Buy a cheap buggy rather than hiring a plastic Disney one - loads cheaper. Our youngest had just turned 5 and obv not in a buggy at home but the August heat tired her out so we bought a cheap buggy in HS shop and it was a godsend! Gave it to a cast member at CBR to pass on when we left.

I second the trainers... don't wear brand new trainers! Wear worn in ones!

If you have thighs that rub... grab some of the dove or sure deodorants on the stick (they are normally around 5 pounds) I can't remember their exact name... rub the deodorant on your thighs, it stops the rub! Lol.
It's also good for shoes rubbing.

Buy water and freeze them... keep some in the car in a cool bag if possible... you will have a cold drink when you get back to the car.

Use fast passes, but don't put them too close together... you end up running back and forth from one end of the park to the other.

Take mints with you. Didn’t realise how much I would miss mints! Found a lovely set of 3 tiny tins in a shop in animal kingdom but they were $10. Next time definitely bringing a multi pack of polos!

How tired you will feel at the end of each day and how sore your feet will get
A good tip though is bring a comfy pair of slippers with you
They feel great after a day in the park

Also if you can get the ferry to magic kingdom your very first time you go
It’s so magical seeing the castle come into view

To not rush everything & try to cram in so much that you miss out on the small stuff.

In 2005, we never thought we’d be going back so we rushed to fit in everything in 2 weeks; WDW, SW, DC & BG & while it was fun & we did a lot we missed out on things like just sitting with a cold drink, having a laugh & taking in the magic & theming of it all. Watching the parades & some of the shows - we missed quite a few cause we were too busy rushing to the next ride etc. I know it’s only little things but it’s things you’ll appreciate looking back on.

That zip codes are not like post codes. Our first night trying to find AKL by just using the zip code, we ended up in a lay by somewhere near some run down shops.

Another one to mention feet! Another tip is to alternate your footwear to avoid ‘hot spots’, never take new flip flops, sandals or trainers, you will suffer.
A pack of blister plasters or mole skin will come in handy.
There is nothing worse than sore feet
