Help needed finding teen trousers
My son is 16 and is down to his last pair of long trousers and I am struggling to find new ones.
Most shops instore don't go above size 14 in boys and so we looked at the mens and the only ones we can find start at 30 waist, he is 26/28 so 30 won't work not even with a belt. I am getting fed up of buying trousers in the shop, then we have to go out to the car (because the changing rooms are closed) only for the trousers to be too big and then have to go back and queue up for a refund. I am now looking online but no joy there either. George at Asda - can't find any trousers anywhere near his age only joggers Matalan don't do teen range in store, I asked at two shops so looking online they only have skinny jeans but he hates them because he struggles to get them on over his feet and says they are not comfortable to work in. Sainsburys only go up to 14 in kids and then again mens start at 30 waist. Tesco, well lets not even go there, no online facility and the three we have tried only had up to aged 13 in kids and 30 waist in mens. Next only go up to 14 in boys. All I want is slim jeans or ordinary trousers either aged 16 or with a waist starting at 26 and not being funny he is 16 not a monk, he wears them out in the garden and for work so they get dirty and torn and I do not want to be paying for expensive trousers. Why is there a gap after aged 15 that nobody seems to cater for and where the hell are all these kids I see getting their clothes from. |

TKMaxx definitely do 26/28 waist as I have bought Paul Smith jeans from there for my son before. Also Jack Wills, Gap and Holister start at 26in waist.
Edited to add: Just had a quick look and River Island also starts at 26in. Edited at 01:31 PM. |

M&S do 28 inch waist trousers they also do the odd pair in a 26 inch waist though the smaller sizes are often hard to find
Hollister do 28 inch waist jeans but pricey at full price so I tend to buy in the sales Edited at 01:31 PM. |

I only buy for girls but noticed river island kids have now extended their children’s range to 16 years much to my nearly 13 year olds joy.

Hi, I have always had this problem with my son (now 16).
We have moved to mens clothing. He has a slim waist and long legs and finding jeans and trousers to fit is a nightmare. His waist is 28 and leg length 34. I have over the years found Next online to do a variety of sizes, River Island, H&M and Hollister. None of them are cheap but I try to wait for the sales and buy them then.

Next online go up to 16 for boys (just checked and some things say 17). Not sure what availability will be like though. I have similar problems with my tall slim daughter.

Gosh I remember exactly this problem when my son was that age 10 years ago. Girls’ and women’s clothes have a complete overlap in sizes so why not men’s?
From memory I think that Next was the best, or we sometimes struck lucky in TKMaxx.

Hi
Have you tried Primark, their teen range goes up to age 16 although for my son they were not a big age 16 and he found some jeans in the mens section waist 28 which were a good fit. Ended up getting his school trousers from there last year and they were great, really nice material not too skinny in the leg and washed brilliantly.

Marks and Spencers have small waisted jeans. I buy from the mens section though. My son is 15 and 6ft 2. But maybe a 30" waist. We have just discovered BooHoo extra long trousers. Dreadful quality, but cheap and cheerful. They do a tall range; I'd try a mens small in the extra long. My son is wearing the mens medium... Good luck!

Just got my son a pair of school trousers from Marks and Spencer as they were the only ones we found that fit on the waist and the length and were skinny fit.He tried some men’s trousers in Next and a few other places but they were all too baggy for him in the leg and he won’t wear anything that’s not a slim fit.Good luck.
