Which hotel for overnight at Gatwick, please?
Hi all. Looking likely that we will be indirect via Gatwick next July. Thinking we’d be better flying down the night before. Any recommendations for a hotel for the night? Thanks

This is our fave - so convenient to walk across to Terminal. Top tip - book a table in the restaurant when you book. We forgot one year and couldn't get in the restaurant till 9pm. Kids were starving!

We also really like the PI North Terminal. I wouldn’t get book for next year, though, especially at Gatwick. I would expect there may be continued changes to flight schedules for sometime and if you are changed to leave from Heathrow - for example - the PI room in Gatwick won’t be any good unless you book a more expensive cancellable rate.

The default here is Premier Inn North terminal (not the other one) but it’s worth comparing. On our next trip the Hilton ( built into the South Terminal) worked out cheaper by the time you added breakfast to the Premier price (and Hilton’s breakfast is far better than Premiers ) .
Travelodge is cheaper and actually very nice with restaurant and big bar but you have to factor in the 2 minute bus ride or a cab to the terminal (cab at about £5 is the same price as 2 people on the bus so for a family cab is cheaper ) |

We have stayed in Bloc hotel a couple of times, reasonably price and great view of planes taking off and landing if you get the right room.

I've said for years the Hilton on the south terminal as it was "free" with Tesco Deals for B&B. Don't seem to be offering it now.
When paying real money though I have to agree with the PI just over the road from the North terminal (even if you're flying from the south). Meal Deal at around £26 pp for dinner and breakfast also good value. We booked non-flex for April 2020 and they allowed us to move to November for same price. When we had to cancel that booking we had money back on our CC within a couple of days. PI, official LGW parking and DFCH are the good guys for refunds. Mick

I have a preference for the older of the two Premier Inns, just behind the newer one and adjacent to the Petrol garage.
1. It is generally a few pounds cheaper, although not air conditioned in the rooms (relevant depending on the time of year). 2. You can park in front of it and unload without the Traffic Bullies pouncing and ticketing you. 3. I prefer the restaurant. 4. In my opinion, it is an altogether more relaxing and chilled out experience throughout. There are always airport trolleys outside and it takes just a couple of minutes down hill to reach the North Terminal entrance.
