Significant price difference!

We are flying in and out of Miami next August 15-30. Car hire prices for mid size SUV ranging from £1000-£3000 for in and out of Miami airport.

Split it into 2 bookings:
Pick up MIA intl 15th Aug
Drop off Orlando Disney 16th Aug
Sixt £140 (cancellable)

Pick up Orlando Disney 16th Aug
Drop off Mia Intl 30th Aug
Hertz £425 (cancellable)

£565 for mid size SUV which I don’t think is too bad considering prices at the minute!

Just a heads up if you’re struggling 😊

I looked at Sixt as there prices were about a £1000 cheaper than Avis, but they put a hold on your credit card of £1900 ...
Ended up sticking with BA flydrive as it still worked out cheaper

Are these prices direct with Sixt and Hertz or through a broker?

Direct with both and signed up to their clubs. Hertz give spouse driver free too with the membership. However sixt don’t but this hire is only for 1 day to drive to Orlando so we can cope with that.

Our Sixt hire is only for 1 day so the hold won’t be on for too long. However I’ll use a different credit card for both hire and both have 10K plus credit limit so no drama. BA for us was ridiculously expensive so added 3 nights hotel as usually do fly drive to get the deposit booking.

We are also flying into Miami. We’ll stay a night out at the beach and collect the car in the morning before driving up. We’ve booked to collect from Loews Miami Beach with Avis and got a saloon for 21 days for £613

Sadly this seems to only work best if you're after 15th August. The July prices for pick up in Disney and drop off at MIA are still sky high

Oh wow! Hopefully they will drop soon, must be to coincide with the us school kids and holidays I’m guessing.
