Memorial Day

Back in July I took the plunge and booked an offsite stay and to make things different I booked for the end of May, I totally forgot that my last full day will be Memorial Day. Have I made a mistake? Has anyone got any experience on how busy it will be?

It’s a busy weekend and also begins the summer break for a lot of Central Florida schools

I'm going end of May to 3rd June, memorial day was a risk I took to fit in with half term school holidays. I figured 3 busy days out of 14 wouldn't be too bad at the end of our holiday for the decent price we are getting. Where are you staying?

We came home on Memorial Day weekend a few years ago and I was amazed at how busy it got, starting on the Thursday. The roads gradually got busier (as did the restaurants). Since then have tried to avoid it.

We were there for Memorial Day in 2019, the weekend before was so busy, not just in the parks but also the outlets. If it's something you're interested in I'd maybe look at doing Discovery Cove or go for a couple of nights to Clearwater where it might be a little quieter if you don't want it to be too busy x

I went in 2018, not only was it Memorial Day weekend but also Pandora opening. I can’t say I noticed anything special but a) I don’t travel outside Disney much and b) spend as little time as possible in Magic Kingdom which I’m sure is the busiest park.

On site in Disney we didn't notice a massive increase over memorial day but it was busy

We booked 23rd May until 6th of June to take in our 40th Wedding anniversary before realising it was Memorial weekend.
We have booked to go to Clearwater from the 28th for three nights but it will probably be as busy there.
