Hire via US site
Has anyone hired a car via a US site rather than a UK site or is this not possible?
Clicked on US site by accident instead of the UK site and the price was half what the UK site was charging, just not sure if you can hire via the US one.

The majority of US sites don't include the correct insurances for UK drivers. They are cheaper because many US customers can use their own policies.

Be extremely cautious if you book a car through a US web site. It is highly likely that you won't get the important insurances such as CDW and SLI. Buying them at the desk will be a painful financial experience.
You need CDW with no excess and $1m SLI which most reputable UK brokers should include. Mick

Thank you, thought there must be a reason it was a cheaper but could not think what it would be.

Hi
Still worth checking. Unless you can get a good price from a UK broker I found it was cheaper to rent from the USA and pay the essential CDW and SLI $1million than the crazy prices being asked here. Having said I was lucky to get the Hertz glitch and Budget with AutoEurope. Alex |
