Renew driving licence - very fast service

I sent mine back with the paper to change the details only after I moved in April. Still had nothing by July, you can't get through to DVLA by phone nor online chat. I went online to do it as a 'lost licence' (as I didn't think at that point in the pandemic it would still be causing issues, obviously it is!) and frustratingly they wanted £20. Instead I got the option of renewing it (was due October 2022) using my passport details and less money than I'd have had to pay for the lost licence.

DSs arrived back this week- it was just short of 15 weeks. We did get in touch with our MP eventually- not sure if this made a difference or not!

DH sent his off mid August.
His was to update hs HGV license after having his routine medical. He had to send paperwork so couldn't do it online. He's still waiting

We tried that route too. Never had a response so it doubt it made any difference. About the same length of time as well. Good luck with the lessons.

Sons driving licence is due for renewal mid November, but he hasn't received his renewal letter from dvla.
Can he renew online without the reminder?

Renewed online Friday lunch time and new licence arrived Wednesday morning.

We did ours online on Saturday and they both arrived today. I had no idea people were waiting so long.

I had to inform the DVLA of medical condition that would prevent me driving for up to a year. I got a letter today informing me of the progress and that they’d be contacting my GP, first contact I’ve had either since I informed them in March!
