Thank you and have read some of the posts on the other thread now. Which I was kindly pointed towards… well, informed of.

Seems maybe a little more common place than I believed it to be.

What kind of rides did you FP several times, if you don’t mind me asking.

Agree with this. Gone are the days of on-site stayers and DVC owners taking all the best fast passes at 12pm 60 days out😀 They now have to fight it out and pay with the off site visitors

Good point…. However, the difficult to get FPs are those which are ILLS right? Meaning that on site guests still get a head start to off site guests either with EMH or to book 2 hours before… and rightly so.

But for all the other rides then I see your point.

I do think the added cost of staying onsite was a good reason to get advance booking though

We used fast pass multiple times in a day for the same ride, TOT, Buzz , BTM. They were relatively easy to achieve. We’ve also done Frozen 3 times in a row in EMH one evening.
Disney have always tried to keep people on site, I don’t understand why this isn’t a priority any more, they’ve got more rooms to sell and less incentive for us to pay the extortionate rates.
Maybe the system will work well but it’s still a big extra cost.
We did 2 weeks on-site at a delux last time, we’ve booked 1 week at a moderate for our next. How many of those that were happy to stay on-site and not consider anything else will now try something similar and realise it’s actually okay. It’s not even just about the cost, I’m doing a week offsite on principal. I’m only a moderate mug.

We won’t consider it. We like staying onsite!

Both at Disney and Universal..

Was FP available during EMH? Not done evening hours for a long time.

No, never has been. I think they were just giving an example of riding the same ride multiple times. Like how I sat on Dumbo for way longer than I'll admit during After Hours because I didn't have to get off between rides.

Didn’t think so. Thank you!

Dumbo over and over again sounds great fun haha

That’s great that it hasn’t put you off, I just feel for us, it’s a push to try Orlando a different way.
I’m also considering alternatives to Disney, we’ve a cruise booked and there’s a possible US road trip in the pipeline.
It’s a lot of money to invest if your not completely happy with all the changes.
I really hope it all works well and my faith is restored next November 😊

I used my 3 fast passes differently than lots of people, as I would often book three evening slots so that I could ride my favourite rides in the dark.

I’m disappointed with the new system in that I can only book one at once. It will encourage me far more to ‘get my money’s worth’ and book them throughout the day, and then just hope I can get an evening ride on splash or thunder mountains.

Having said this, I suspect for us this might well be a one time purchase thing - we will do it next trip as we are taking our son’s girlfriend for her first ever trip, but after that the thought of having my head stuck in a phone to grab the next fastpass is not the way I want to holiday. Disney is more about atmosphere and a few rides for us these days, not how many rides can I get done because I’ve paid for the genie! 😞
