Which Pet Insurance?

Hi we were with animal friends with Poppy but by the end when she had so many conditions they tried their best to not pay out. We were paying £160 a month in the end.😫
Any recommendations? Is there one where you pay a bit more and they don't make you pay for £99 or more for each condition? Thanks 🙏

I was with Pet Plan with Kody lifetime cover but I found that they didn’t pay all of the costs as he got older.
When I got Delilah Pet Plan quote seemed really expensive for a 5 and a half year old dog.
I ended up going with Many Pets as my daughter has her dog insured with them and has always had good service. They also have a 24hr vet helpline which you can access. The annual cover was more as well
She also had a referral code that I could use.

One of our dogs is insured with Many Pets (used, and paid out swiftly for a £1.7k claim), the other one is with Animal Friends... we used Animal Friends with our older rescue as he was expensive to insure and you can pick your level of cover with multiple different options. We will have to pay 20% of any claim which we're ok with 🐶🐶

As they get older they will have a 20% copayment with everyone (usually around the 7/8 year mark) ie you pay 20% of what ever the claim cost.
Pet plan are the only one vets will work with directly in most cases (ie you dont have to stick £10k on a credit card and wait 12 weeks to get it back!)
I am with purely pets - I wouldn’t recommend, if I could move away I would (13 year old dog with preexisting condition now… so that have me, but they took something like 16 weeks to repay the claim and couldn’t update or give a timescale ever)
Just give the insurer a google and make sure there’s non of those type horror stories around.

I would look at a nice high cover (like £10-20k) and try find lifetime policies (so if you do claim they can’t boot you off) you can always compare each year, but after 7/8 years old once they have something pre-existing it gets very hard to switch, so having the right cover now will help, but also if you go for cheaper cover, at least save the difference in a seperate pot, so you do have some just in case money.

We're with Tesco for Jack and Daisy, and so far have had no issues.

We have got Many Pets lifetime cover it’s a good level of cover for conditions. They also do a money back type policy if you don’t claim in the year 20% of premiums are refunded.

My cats were with Tesco. Had to claim in the summer just gone as my boy cat needed to go to a referral practice. Tesco paid directly and was a very simple process.
I did cancel it though when the renewal came through as it doubled and because I work at a vets a get a huge discount anyway I thought it wasn’t worth it. If I didn’t work in a vets I would have just paid it.

ManyPets - never had any issues with them paying out. Great level of cover and you only pay the excess once if you have multiple claims in the same policy year.

We have been with Petplan for 12 years with Belle - lifetime cover. We pay £115pm now however in the last couple of years she had ACL surgery on both knees which was covered for upto 4K each time. My friend is with Animal Friends and her Cockapoo has just been diagnosed with Diabetes. They said they will cover for diabetes until the next renewal only.
