Virgin just cancelled our flight

Just had an email from virgin cancelling our September flight. They have said they will keep our tickets as an open credit. I don’t want this as don’t know when we will go now definitely won’t be next year. So can i ask for a refund ? We were flying indirect via Atlanta which is not showing up anymore either.

I've had an email that there has been a change of schedule including a flight number change. JFK to LHR was 10 pm now 6 pm. There are reward flights but if I can cancel I'll save £90 cancellation fee. Every little helps on DIY bookings 😀

Am I better what’s apping them. Know it will take months. Or could I try a chargeback with my bank.

Yeah mines gone as well Aug 14 to Miami. They are reward flights and I would have cancelled them as it looks like our cruise will be officially cancelled any day now.

I got a reply back on whats app within a few hours - not had the refund obviously but they confirmed my request.

Tell them you want a refund... perfectly entitled if they have cancelled... trying it on again!
