Nothing like a scaffold plank with one end on the banister and the other end on a ladder but making creaking noises as it bends under my weight.

Please don't try this albeit I do!

I use ladder and scaffold board( plank) . Ladder up from the bottom few steps of stairs then slide the plank across from top of stairs to ladder rung same height. Works for me as I'm 6ft 3in already , so can reach the ceilings and top of walls easy enough.

No problem, if you check around your local area it should be cheaper too at other hire shops.

Thanks, I think I can picture that in my head now!

DH is struggling with the stepladder a bit so I think I’m going to have to rethink. He’s pretty tall too, over 6 ft but is terrible with heights and has a hip and knee injury (just to make it all more interesting)

Hi from your picture a simple ladder will do . If your not happy doing this get someone else to help or at least make sure someone holds the ladder

For under £100 and more like £70 this is one of the best bits of kit you can buy.

Stores really well and compact and is great for working at height in confined, uneven and awkward areas.

I can’t figure out how a ladder could be safe on our stairs

(ETA not our stairs particularly...any stairs!)

Thanks Tom (G )

We’ve not bought a ladder in our lives!

You can see how often we do DIY (never basically!)
