Drowning in Pixie Dust
Decided we will go to Orlando next year for 4 weeks. Planned 30th Nov so we get free dining and to be there for my youngest sons 11th birthday on the 2nd as well as being in Orlando for Christmas. So I booked 5 of us in to CBR, best quote I got was with Disney Best Deals saving around £400 on direct price. Chose not to upgrade Dining as with such a long trip we would really need to watch the pennies.
Got a call two days ago from my Disney Agent Elspeth. Full of apologies. Disney had contacted her to say that we could no longer stay in one room in CBR as the category we were booked in to the pull down bed only sleeps children up to 10yrs old. Seem to think my son is going to turn in to a Heffalump overnight?! 🤣 Elspeth spent a long time on the phone bargaining with them as they had initially accepted our booking. So our choices were 2 rooms at CBR - No additional cost 1 cars or Nemo suite at AOA with upgrade to QS plan - no additional cost Or 2 rooms at AKL with upgrade to DDP - No additional cost Guess what we went for?! AKL! New confirmation through and now because it’s 2 rooms we get 2 $100 gift cards. It’s like 3 upgrades in 1 ❤️ Can’t recommend Disney Best Deals enough! Never been so excited in my life. |

I've never heard of Disney saying you can't put an adult in the Murphy bed (if that's what the pull down bed is) before- in fact DVC studios with them are sold as sleeping 5 with no specification between adults and children, and I've seen loads of people say they've slept in them as adults and large teenagers etc.
The AKL option is somewhat of a no brainer here.

I know I was surprised! It wasn’t even my youngest that slept in it last year it was my 15yo. It was a preferred room that we had booked for next ear as that was all that was available. She had said that it was only certain categories that slept 5 adults. That one was only kids up to 10.

Who are Disney Best Deals? I can't find them searching online.
I'd be a bit concerned as to book AKL direct on the Disney site, you need to do it in two bookings to cover the timeline and they only have a 1-bed savannah view club level room available at a total of over £22,000 for the 4 weeks. An upgrade from 1 room at CBR to 2 rooms at AKL with full dining plan for no charge whatsoever for 4 weeks seems very odd to me. Edit, especially when Star Wars Land will be open or opening by then.

Yes here’s their website disneybestdeal/ although currently down while they upload the new offers. It’s a small business. Was just Elspeth on her own until a couple of months ago selling DLP. I’ve had many friends go on their DLP trips through them so I’m not worried in the slightest. A quick call to Disney would settle my mind at ease even if after I’d seen the confirmation I was still suspicious.
