I do love the lake district but having worked up there for several months I will probably leave it a while before we go up again

That hotel looks nice but when I was working up there I found a b&b which I ended up staying in during the week for longer than I can remember but what made it special was the staff. Certainly not 5* bit full of fun

We have used Airbnb several times and have always been pleased with our stays

We mustn't lose site this is a holiday for my son though.

Thanks to everyone who replied. In the end we booked a long weekend in bluestone in pembrokeshire and then will wing it after that!
