One of the American Youtubers I watch (cookery related) does cook-alongs. When she is showing the ingredients measured in cups, she’ll say half a cup, third of a cup - both fine. But for a quarter of a cup she says “a fourth a cup” - it isn’t a slip of the tongue as i’ve noticed her say it in several recipes now. Not sure if it’s just her or something other Americans would say?
