David's points rentals - timescale?
Probably a 'how long is a piece of string?' question, but I'm wondering how long I could expect it to take before my points are rented out through them. I'm sure they must be flooded out with available points at the moment, but their website still indicated they need more to list.
Has anyone here had recent experience of renting out points through David's? |

Not actual points as such but I have rented out some reservations. We had quite a few banked points that were going to be wasted. I made some single day, two day and three day reservations, all over various important US dates, like Halloween, Christmas time and Presidents’ Day, in popular resorts, mainly the Contemporary (just forgotten the DVC resort name 🙄. I used David’s for the rental of the reservations. They all went fairly quickly and we earned sufficient rental money to pay the annual dues with some money left over. Success!

I've had about 80 points up for rent since December, one bite but I missed the email.
These are expiring September points hopefully DVC will let me bank them. |

Making a reservation is good advice - mine went within a few hours on Facebook for $18 / point whereas I would have got much less than that (and some of the cash much later) through David’s.
Pre Covid I used Davids and my points always went within days - now they listed for weeks without an enquiry (BLT) Edited at 06:03 PM. |

I also had my points with them for a few weeks with no luck so I booked a studio in May (they expire in June) and put it with them at a reduced price. I'm pleased to have easily covered my dues but I think I reduced it too much as it went within the hour!
I'm probably going to have to brave Facebook for my next lot of points as I have a stay booked over October 1st and I think I can get more for it than I would through David's. Unfortunately I've never done that before so I have no idea which are the reputable groups. Are we allowed to discuss Facebook pages on here? :-) |

Hmm, sounds like maybe I should look at making a reservation or two instead then.
I did rent out some points last year through a FB group, having tried making reservations, but found that no one wanted the reservations, and I ended up cancelling them to use the points for requested reservations! You can’t win, eh? I thought I’d try David’s this time, even though I know I’m not likely to get as much per point, as I am more nervous now about changes in travel restrictions, etc, or the possibility of the parks having to close again and thought I’d prefer to have an agent worrying about that than me! If I can cover my dues, I’ll be very happy! |

That was exactly my mindset, but I was persuaded to rent an existing reservation by people on here (THANKS TO THEM).
Although I had five people ask me to amend the dates to include October 1st (Noodlez please note that, you have a VERY sought after date) when I’d clearly said that wasn’t possible, the next person took my five night Mid Oct reservation and then I added two nights at the end. She paid me in full within a few minutes Based on my experience renting a reservation is the way to go!
