The defence started today and a use of force expert was putting the case for Chauvin's actions being reasonable. The prosecution chewed him up pretty well.

I don't think he will get away with it but I don't think the punishment is going to be enough to avoid more unrest.

Totally agree with you.

I will be surprised if there are not massive riots over there if they find him not guilty. If I was on the jury I would find him guilty, and to be honest the other officers there should have intervened but they stood and watched.

Then you wouldn’t be on the jury.You have obviously pre judged the man without seeing all of the evidence. It’s harrowing and should never have happened but to find someone guilty of murder you have to prove, beyond ALL reasonable doubt, that the intention all along is to kill the victim. If it can be argued that the victim died by accident or misadventure (due to circumstances like drugs in his system) then the conviction fails.
Whatever happens there will be further unrest.
