It very much depends on the type of package offered.

Previously, often if you were staying onsite and especially if getting the free dining, then TAs like Virgin would tend to buy/book the hotel + tickets package from Disney. In which case, the package included both items together and when this booking was linked to MDE then it showed both hotel and tickets. That was generally the only way for them to get the free dining.

Staying offsite is different. TAs would book the tickets separately (often via Attraction World) to the hotel then, and would only buy the tickets around 30 days before the holiday. Which was a pain for the customer.

Sorry to hijack thread, but seems relevant. Will MDE only let you make park reservations if your tickets are valid?

i.e. if they had expired or been cancelled it would prevent you from making reservations?

Yes, only if the tickets are valid.

I know when my tickets were cancelled last year, they were (eventually) removed from my MDE account. Which, in turn, meant anything booked using those tickets - like park reservations or fastpasses - also got removed.

I would assume any expired or cancelled tickets would get removed from your account.
