What to do on first eve in San Francisco

Hi,

We are flying from London at 11.20am arriving in SFO at 2.25pm and want to make some plans for the late afternoon evening.

I assume we are going to be shattered, but what do people usually do on their first evening?

Thanks
Grace

We showered, had a quick wander around our immediate hotel area to get our bearings then We went out for dinner in a desperate attempt to stay awake. We arrived at a similar time to you, and think we made it to about 10pm before collapsing!

Where are you staying?

If in Fisherman's Wharf area then I would go for a walk, see the seals, enjoy the atmosphere and find somewhere to have a nice meal.

we arrived and got the BART to our hotel room before having a quick look round, changed and went straight out the door. We were in Union Sq area and walked through Powell and on down to Fishermans Wharf, before returning up through Chinatown.

Having eaten, we slept well from around 2200 that night and were raring to go the following morning. (Alcatraz).

We stayed in Fisherman's Wharf so had a walk to the pier, watched the sea lions, went for tea (I think we went to Hard Rock) and then bed at about 9pm.

After such a long flight & the time difference, we unpack then go for a walk, stop at Westfield food court for a Charley’s Philly Cheesesteak subthen maybe pop to Walgreens get cable car passport, water & snacks, then quick look in Old Navy
Always get a taxi from airport as too tired to mess about with the BART

We showered then had a walk around, before having somthing to eat and drink in our hotel.
The flight is draining, you will be more tiered than you expect to be

Hi in real terms by the time you get to hotel it will be 10 o'clock uk time, so if you can kill a couple of hours that's about it. Main advice would then be get first morning planned as you will be up and ready to go.
