New 'Offer' on 4 July Top of the World Lounge

You'll recall they now made this a paid for event at $99 plus tax and tip per person.

Suddenly today they've offered to others staying there they can stand outside on the patio only, not go in, for $49.

Good offer?

God help us. The lunatics are now running the asylum.

And I lay odds that people will pay it.

I hope it's a financial disaster for them and they end up with an empty Lounge.

I just read a post on Facebook where someone was saying she was happy to pay it. I happily watch the fireworks from TOTWL if we aren't going to the park but it is not a great view and even on 4th July I would not be willing to pay that much when I can watch from the bridge or Contemporary for free.

We tend to watch the fireworks from the Contemporary carpark. Totally free and no sign yet of Bob Ogre trying to rip us off.

Goodness, that’s 49$ more than I’d pay.

With the new fireworks being very " castle Image Based " even more so than wishes, the TOTW lounge for the fireworks had dropped right down the list of places to watch it

though saying that, i guess the 4th July is the old firework show, thus might not be so " image based "

I wonder if people who had bookings were informed directly or if they found out when the checked in. Not everyone uses social media and if they hadn't looked on the DVC site (and why would they) they would assume it was the same as all the other years and would have booked BLT specifically for that benefit on 4th July.

There are lots of people spouting about members shouldn't feel entitled. I think being upset that your carefully made plans that you had in place for 11 months for accommodation and 6 months for eating suddenly get changed at the last minute so that you couldn't do what you expected is perfectly reasonable. Disney makes us plan so far ahead and then move the goal posts so people will get upset. We all know perks can be taken away but sometimes a little common courtesy to people that will affected goes a long way.

Worth checking out Dr JJ's food report to see how badly they messed up the Californian Grill yesterday and the standard of the food.

Seems like Disney dropped the ball big time last night.
