LA in May?

Hi, what are people's thoughts on visiting LA in May, weather wise?
I had thought it would be a good time to visit and the crowds won't be too crazy but I've now seen a few people saying not to go in May as the weather isn't very good.
Would we be better off going later in the year?

We were there in May in 2017 and I would say the weather was perfect, not too hot at all so comfortable for sight-seeing!

(I have a trip report of our time there if you want any more detail )

It won’t be too hot. I think people are talking about the May Grey when they say the weather isn’t the best. That means the mornings are foggy and overcast especially close to the coast and as the day progresses it burns off and the afternoons are blue skies and low 20s. They have May Grey and June Gloom.

We’ve been in LA in late April for the last two years for Battlebots filming. The weather ranged from cool (never cold) to equivalent to a lovely warm English summer day. Always good enough for shorts, although the locals wouldn’t wear them at that time!
Quite breezy at times this year.
So, perfect sightseeing weather for us (when we weren’t in an old Boeing warehouse watching robots destroy each other, and rushing to McMaster for emergency spares!)
Definitely not too busy, including Disney, Universal and the other LA sights. The beaches were virtually empty in April, the sea might be a bit chilly but probably not by British standards!
Watch out for sunburn though, even if it’s overcast or cool.

May / june can have gloomy mornings which may also include a bit of rain. So if you are planning beach days just keep an eye on the weather and you may have to wait till the afternoon. Temps are generally between 60 & 80.
