Immigration- how long will we wait, anything we should know?

We came through yesterday; BA flight late by around 45 minutes; landed at 4.20; then they had an issue with the air bridge for 10 minutes.

2 people in the immigration hall ahead of us; empty hall, took less than 5 minutes.

Great; then they had an issue with the cargo door on plane; so waited approx 20-30 minutes for baggage.

On the road in rental car within approx an hour of landing.

I believe they do have queues for US passport holders but we walked straight past those.

Just for anyone looking up threads on immigration I thought I would come back and post our experience.

We landed at around 4:00pm on a BA flight and we were about 25 minutes through immigration. We were able to go up together, I looked everywhere for a sign that said to separate but I didn’t see any so we just went up together and nothing was said.

My friend had her finger prints and photo done, this was her first time in the US so that was to be expected. I had a photo taken. We were asked the purpose of our visit and we said Disney, the immigration guard was quite bemused. He asked us questions about what rides we were excited about, so it was all a pretty calm affair- though I know I look about 15 years old so there’s always an element of being slightly cheated like a child- but I suppose I am a child when it comes to Disney.

Anyway we were through immigration so fast we then had to wait ten minutes before the cases came out in baggage reclaim.

I distinctly remember waiting two hours at MCO when I was 11, 13 years ago, so I was really happy with how quick we were through.

It took about 90 minutes when we arrived on a BA flight on 21 August. Unfortunately there was a Stuttgart flight ahead of us and also a flight from Brazil. it seemed to take forever for these passengers to clear immigration which I assume was due to language difficulties as it was taking forever for people to clear the desks. Once the BA passengers were at the desks it was taking minutes to be processed, but at least our bags were on the belt once we had cleared.
