10 year old, DDP and Child's meals
I'm looking at a trip for next year when my eldest would be 10, which I know means he would be an adult in a Disney terms. Looking at the menus, in some places I don't think he'd eat anything on the adult menu. Would we be able to order him a child's meal still (and pay for it rather than using dining credits if we had the dining plan) or would he have to use the adult menu?

Yes you can, except where it is a buffet or served family style - as everyone gets the same food you will have to pay adult price or use ddp. Also in many places they will provide the child menu items in an adult portion.

Thank you, that's helpful. I thought it would be the case for buffets, but i was looking at if we went to somewhere like Sanaa where I can't see him eating any of the adult mains. It's good to know they will do an adult size portion of a child meal too

We had a similar situation, what we found worked quite well was sometimes using my dd7 child credits for dd7 and dd10, then paying out of pocket for them from the child menu when they ran out, we then had extra adult table service credits which we used in signature restaurants for us.
