We've always booked flights with a stopover in the past as it has been considerably cheaper but we had a bad experience last time round. We were delayed in Orlando for 6 hours due to bad weather in New York where we were due to change flights. By the time we got there we had of course missed our connecting flights and no-one from American Airlines was there to help us out or offer a solution. Eventually we grabbed someone who booked us on to flights to Heathrow (Our car was in Birmingham) and they managed to arrange a bus transfer for us back to our car. Our luggage still went to Heathrow without us (So much for security) and arrived home a few days later. We have booked direct flights with Virgin this time.

I agree, I think we need a poll from Mickey House

It’s also in the Collins Dictionary
