Yes, I understood the article. I was merely stating that a 1/1.5 hour queue at Atlanta, or in fact many US airports is not uncommon.

Took us 2 hours to clear immigration in Atlanta in November.
This caused us to miss our connecting flight to Fort Lauderdale.
We were Tod all flights for that day were full .
Got put onto a standby list.
Luckily we managed to get on the next flight as other people have same
Problems with immigration.

Were you on the BA flight too? I think we were about 45 minutes, but we were some of the first people off in economy.
