Getting Excited

How much money will we lose
We’ve booked with virgin to go to Orlando on 30 April for two weeks including flights, villa and car hire. The final balance is due 5 February. Wt the moment we have only paid the minimum deposit.
We have also paid £25/person as a deposit for our Disney/universal tickets with Attraction Tickets Direct, final payment due 6 weeks before we travel. We are in the process of buying a new build house and have been told there’s a good chance the house will be completed a few months before we had anticipated which means we’re going to struggle to have our finances in place for the house if we go ahead with Florida. My question is, can we postpone our holiday with Virgin until next year and not lose our deposit? Or if we cancel now, would we just lose the deposits we’ve paid so far? I really don’t want to cancel, the trip has been booked for nearly a year, but we decided to get married last year and now buy a house and our circumstances have changed and deep down I think it is the right thing to do. Thank you for any advice |

I had to cancel last year, although it was through WDTC, and all I lost was the deposit. Check your T&Cs but as long as you cancel before the balance is due, this should be all that is required.
They did offer to transfer the holiday to this year, I don't know if Virgin would offer the same. Pretty sure it involved an admin fee that was the same price as my deposit though, so it didn't make much difference to cancel vs reschedule. |

I would check their terms, but from the website it states the amount you would lose on cancellation:
More than 84 days Loss of deposit 57-84 days 30% 37-56 days 50% 22-36 days 70% 7-21 days 90% Less than 7 days 100% |

If it’s Virgin holidays they let you transfer the dates usually for an admin fee and I think you need to pay a new deposit but your old deposit gets taken off the balance, or something like that!

What Pussycat Doll said happened to my friend, they let her carry forward her deposit, to be used within 12 months

We got all ours back but that was for a bereavement - not sure if it would be the same in this case, best bet is to contact the companies you have booked through and check
Good luck Rob |

attraction tickets direct will let you move the tixs to next year no problem Last time they charged us a £20 admin fee but just added it to the balance.
Virgin holidays will usually allow you to reschedule within a year and not lose your deposit but they normally charge you another deposit to hold the new holiday and then deduct what you have already paid off the balance. |

Excited about Disney

Hi, I have recently rescheduled my florida holiday with virgin, they allow 1 change but charge a £35 admin charge per person, no issues at all but you need to confirm the new dates and destination/resort at the time of booking. I also received immediate confirmation by email. Hope this helps
