Mobile Rip Ride Rockit lap bar not completely reaching over?

Is the big lap bar on Rip Ride Rockit supposed to completely come over you? Me and my hubby tried the test seat when we went last time and the bar only just reached over my stomach and left a big gap between the edge of the seat and the bar over my hip. (Imagine a seatbelt and a plug, it was like the end of the belt being half a foot away from the plug). But, the light went green and the CM said we’re good to go. We chickened out in the end, but want to try next time. Is it right the bar is like that? Seems odd to have a big gap like that. Thanks!

It doesn't have to, there is always a gap left when I ride it.

I don't know the rules about gaps, but I can relay what I saw last year, in case this helps you or others...

There was a lady of, shall we say, a larger disposition (which is fine, I'm no slim Jim myself!), but she'd decided to wear a full length summer dress, which again is fine, but something about her size and/or attire meant that they couldn't secure her safety equipment and she was asked to get off the ride. My guess is that is was more her dress than size (after all, they let me on!), so perhaps this is more of a warning that if you're intending to go on the rides with tight seats that wearing a dress will hinder (unless you're prepared to pull your dress up!?), wear something else!

You really want to pull it over you with some force so that it clicks in place, even if it is at an angle to hold you tight in. It is weird though and I always find I am holding it on the wonk as I am small framed but would sooner be like that. I rode it once and it wasn't tight and was sloshing about and it can hurt. Plus that vertical climb, you feel like you're gonna fall out if the bar isn't pulled round tight enough

From what I remember there was a gap when the bar was pulled over. I’m quite small and it didn’t go all the way across for me.

I was a little concerned as it didn’t seem like you were fastened in enough for a rollercoaster that went upside down but it was fine. I didn’t feel like I was going to fall out and I really enjoyed the ride.

It doesnt go upside down thats why its a lap bar and not an overhead restraint

It will certainly add to the experience if you are not fully strapped in!

There’s a ride near us that has the same lap restraint and does go upside down... slowly. Hate that ride.

I was on RRR and struggling to secure my paper express pass in my pocket using both hands so the lapbar was obstructed from closing on me. It was locked, but far looser than it ought to have been leading to be coming completely out of my seat during 'air time'. It was probably super dangerous but hilarious, made the ride all the more scary :P
