It being open could work in your favour. The other parks will probably be deserted 😂

I’m not sure. A part of the Galaxy’s Exge crowd will be Star Wars fans who probably wouldn’t do Disney otherwise. Non SW fans will probably avoid going around then. It’ll be interesting to see how the other parks are.

I agree it will be interesting to see what happens with the Star Wars fans who ordinarily have no interest in Disney - I think it could go two ways :

Either they just go to DHS for the Star Wars stuff, or (and due to the huge expense of park tickets, this would be the way I’d go) - will buy for Star Wars, but will feel like they should see what the rest of Disney is about to justify the high ticket costs.

I too expect it to be busy everywhere - as you will undoubtedly also get the die hard Disney fans, who have no real interest in SW, who will still feel they need to go to see it all, just because they won’t want to miss out on the newest rides at Disney (I fall very much into this category! )

I'm planning to go in 2021 to combine Star Wars land with the 50th Celebrations. It will probably be manic but I love the buzz around special dates.I could go next year as I'm a massive SW fan and it will definitely be open but I think I'll need an extra year to save all the extra money and do it all "one last time! " Can't wait for the new hotel and yes, I will probably pay the extortionate rates that I'm sure they're going to charge.

Correct about soft openings, I was lucky enough to ride 7DMT two weeks before it was officially opened, but had to queue for 2 hours. So imagine for Star Wars!

I fully expect to miss out this year but would be interested in an Early Morning Magic type thing they’re doing with Toy Story Land but for Galaxy’s Edge on a future visit. I shudder to think what it would cost but it could potentially be worth it.

I'm really hoping it's open while we're out there but I'm not holding my breath - we're even keeping our last 2 full days unreserved on the off-chance we get to go to GE and spend most of those days in queues!

I think the crowds will be in all of the parks, not just there. Apart from locals I can't see people paying all that money for flights, accommodation, tickets just to go to one area of one park. Also you might get a family where say one parent likes SW and the other family members don't and they go elsewhere.
