Thomas Cook cancelled our flight and moved our holiday back a day without telling us!
Fuming. Just wanted a rant really. Were meant to go Sat April 27th from Manchester, returning on Sunday May 12th but my wife saw someone post on Facebook that their flight has been cancelled so she checked on the app and our holiday has now been pushed back a day! It's really messed up our trip plan and means I have to take another day off work since I now won't return until the Monday! Gutted.

Definitely call their customer service and figure out whats going on asap! I had a look and there could be a contact phone number of your booking, otherwise you can try 01733 224808. I can't see any opening times for calls so hopefully they are open at the moment.
From their website- " If you do not want to accept a significant change, Thomas Cook Airlines will, if they are able to do so, offer you an alternative flight at no extra cost to you." This article could be helpful, and thomas cook are ABTA and ATOL protected so that should help your case. A quick search online shows they have done this to other people, and seem to count it as a flight time change rather then a significant holiday date change. There is a thread here about a similar situation. Hope that helps somewhat! Edited at 04:41 PM. |

Apparently according to their T&C's they can change your flight up to 12 hours before so doesn't seem like I can do much about it!

from the t&c's
" 12. CHANGES MADE BY US BEFORE YOU TRAVEL Sometimes we’ll have to make changes to your booking arrangements. Significant Changes: If any change will have a significant effect on your Holiday, we’ll tell you about it before you travel (if there is time). The sort of significant changes we’ll tell you about include: • A change of UK departure airport (although a change between London airports including Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted and Luton will not usually be considered significant). • A change to your destination. • A change of more than 12 hours to the time you leave the UK or your destination. • If we downgrade your accommodation by one full ‘Tour Operator’ rating, or, • If the swimming pool will not be available for an extended period during your Holiday and no alternative pool is available either at the property or nearby. • A change of any special requests (as described in paragraph 3) which we have accepted and confirmed will be provided. If you agree to the change, we will give you a price reduction if the change results in a Holiday of lesser quality or cost. If you don’t want to accept a significant change that we tell you about before you depart, we will, if we’re able to do so, offer you an alternative Holiday of equivalent or closely similar standard and price at no extra cost. " I'm not sure if the change is greater then 12 hours, but if it is they should have contacted you, as per their own t&cs and they should be asking you if agree to the changes- and be giving you some money back for changing your flights. It goes on to say they will contact you at least twice before taking action on your behalf- read it all on page three, section 12. |

I really feel for all the changes that mess with people’s hopes and wishes. Just makes me glad that I do independent travel!

Which flight were you supposed to be on?
Just did a dummy booking on two TC flights on the Saturday and loads of seats are available?
