Cool Disney direct in May 2020

We are planning on going to Disney world for the first 2 weeks of May in 2020. I’m thinking of booking direct with Disney as I’ve had good experiences previously. Is this a good time of year to go, as only been in September previously, and is it worth booking immediately once Disney release the dates or wait till jan 2020, as I looked at the equivalent for this year and the prices seem better.
Any tips greatly received

Personally, I love the first 2 weeks of May, we went that time of year in 2016 and 2018 and we're planning on the same for 2020, like you.
I've not been any other time of year though, although we are going in September this year, but I definitely enjoy early May out there.
Regarding your other question, I think it's a case of if you see a price you're happy with, book it

How hot is it? We are considering May but will have a baby and wondering if found earlier in the year like March might be easier on the little one?

We've always gone early May because that's when my birthday is.
the weather has varied a lot. One year (2012 I think) I needed to wear light trousers a few days as it wasn't warm enough for shorts and it kept bucketing down with rain. in 2014 it was 90 to 94 degrees the whole fortnight and I was in heaven
