Our new dog is being trained as a service dog for my DD so absolutely no being fed from our plates or getting our leftovers as she will be going to restaurants etc with us in a few months. I truly don't understand all the comments about the plates not being clean enough after washing. Does everyone who thinks that have separate plates, knifes etc for raw meat? I would be far more concerned about catching salmonella from raw chicken than anything from a dog or cat licking a plate if I didn't think hot water and soap cleaned properly.

I don’t let my dog lick our plates, it’s just not for me tbh, but we are all different. I wouldn’t let our cat walk on the kitchen worktops either, but my dog does lick my face but never my mouth. I find it interesting how we all allow different things
I feel differently about baby poo because it’s just milk and baby food. Dog food is disgusting before it goes in!

I agree with cats on worktops too, I’d hate to have them up where food was but I’d also hate to have cats or dogs on my sofa or in my car and bed.

I was thinking about why I don’t like dogs licking plates and I think one of the reasons is the thought of putting plates on the floor seems somewhat uncouth.

I am a dog person, but I don’t let mine. I think that what it is partly is that it is uncouth. My husband and I don’t pick our plates up and lick them clean, so I don’t see why the dog gets to

Funny speaking as a non veggie what parts of animals go into things like sausages, processed food also milk contains an amount of pus, gelatine is the most yukky thing on earth yet we eat Pick and Mix and all these foods, yet we all worry if a dog licks us or our plates.

Give me a dog kiss any day. x

I think it’s more the dog breath thing.

Puppy kisses - oh that’s totally different!

I’m just thinking about Brian’s old Golden Tyler - he was such a darling but good god- his breath!

Thank you. He's actually a really nice bloke as a person, very thoughtful, just very difficult to work for because of all this. It's a shame.
