Excited about Disney

We flew last year when ours were 4, 6 and 8 and the year before when they were 3, 5 and 7 and in all honesty they surprised me.
They handled the flight much better than our short haul holidays. I packed them a goody bag each with activity books, stickers, blind bags, mini play doh tubs, small lego sets, cards etc and loads of snacks! They didnt bother too much with their goodies and were happy enough with the inflight entertainment. I packed them a blanket each and travel pillows which came in handy. We stayed at Coronado last year, we all enjoyed it. We're flying indirect this year and I'm hoping they'll handle it as well as our past trips! |

All of my 3 went to Florida for the first time when they were between 18 months and 2.5, and had their second trip between 3.5 and 4.5, so I have had quite a bit of experience!
Lots of good tips already, as others have said lots of little wrapped toys and lots of snacks for the plane, plus I would take a tablet loaded with tv shows they like or games. The babycare centres in the park are really nice and a nicer environment to change nappies in than the general toilets I would definitely take a lightweight stroller from home, and take nappies and wipes too as they are expensive to buy there. Be prepared to be flexible on plans, and we tend to find it works best to go into the parks early, have a break in the middle of the day and go back later. Evening shows are difficult, especially in August as they are later, be prepared that they may well end up asleep! |

For nappies and wipes etc, pre-order them at Boots about a week beforehand at whatever airport you use and pick them up once you're cleared security. They are much cheaper here and you won't have to use half a suitcase for it all!

My biggest tip would be take back pack style reins. they were a god send I took mine it meant they could walk when they wanted, carry there own snacks and made it easier to keep under control when exiting shows and fireworks. As for late nights mine coped really well with them we let them sleep in the buggy during the day if they wanted but a couple of times my 5 year old ended the night in the buggy whilst i carried my 2 year old.

Not particular general advice, but do not let the children see the screen with how long left in the flight. Be prepared for every 2 minutes “how long is there left to go”. Rotate between children to make sure you can take a break from this incessant question. Prepare for the fact you will not get to read your book, and you might as well put on your screen whatever is on theirs, as your headphones will repeatedly be plugged in theirs anyway. Oh, and they can hear you scream to vent your frustration in the toilets. Finally, when you’re coming back, have an empty bottle in your bag. When your child decides they need the toilet and plans is stuck on tarmac in a thunderstorm, the bottle may be the only option...
