My hubby is a geek and relishes the old classic films with their nuances and popular references of the time - real film, not computer generated...

Try Lawrence of Arabia, Gone With the Wind, The Big Country, The Bridge at Remagen, - all acknowledged as major productions of their time - with stellar casts (that can act - personal opinion...).

We watched Groundhog Day last weekend and our kids loved it! They are a wee bit older than yours though, but I think it’s a great movie- funny with a moral storyline.

Togo on Disney +
Fantastic film based on the true story of a musher and his sled dogs trying to collect serum to save the children of Nome ( Alaska) from a Diptheria outbreak.

Would not recommend some of the films mentioned for a 12 year old
