Depends on what the filling is. Cheese and onion requires minimal spread (as per MH picture) but cheese and chutney requires no spread. Toast requires oodles of butter, as does a jacket potato. Spread lasts forever in our house of 2 adults (current one is out of date ☺️) but OH’s mum goes through spread like there’s no tomorrow!

That's not buttered MH that's just pathetic
I keep my butter in the fridge so it has to be sliced and laid on, not spread
I eat a healthy diet (and no, that's not a joke. Butter is a really healthy fat to eat)

So are you a thick or thin butter person?

P.S. I'm not trying to gve it large that I'm healthy because I do eat healthy in between a 4 packs of chunky kitkats

Where is the butter?
I go to the edges and make sure I can see it and taste it. A good quality one means you dont need much

Anchor butter thickly spread... mmmm...

(Which is why I avoid bread!)

I hardly ever eat bread but if I have a bread roll or a scone/hot cross bun I use French Unpasteurised butter (Waitrose) and have to see my teeth marks in it!

I wouldn't waste the energy lifting the lid off the butter dish for that amount of butter 🤣

I tend to use low fat alternatives in an every day sarnie, such as chutney or pickle. But if we have fresh crusty bread at the weekend, I like the butter with salt crystals in it, and at least as thick as a slice of cheese 😝

Well I'm part of the spread on, spread off brigade! I hate to be able to taste the butter.

Depends what I'm eating.

No butter in sandwiches. Ever.

Fresh bread and proper butter requires lashings of butter if it's being eaten alone. If it's with soup or something else then I'll have less butter.

Toast requires butter but not quite as much. Less still if I'm having Bovril or jam on it.
