The weekly coal delivery ... they would empty their sacks in your bunker... the coal man was hacky black but boy could he throw a bag of coal around ...

Early 1960’s everything seemed to come to the street. Fruit and veg, fish, pop, paraffin. And if you wanted to get rid of anything then rag and bone man took it in exchange for lollipops.

No. He made a bit of an impression on 6-8 year old self. Had nice Brylcremed hair and was v chatty. Probably long dead now, God love him.

Fustian weaver - fustian is a kind of coarse cloth, popular for prison clothing I believe.
Tenterman - he stretched newly dyed cloth over a frame called a tenter to dry. The hooks on the frame were tenterhooks - hence the saying.
