Hotel in/near Naples as a base

I need ideas for where to base ourselves for 2 days in/near Naples area. Where would you recommend? Fort Myers? Boca Grande? Marco Island? Sanibel?
Or Naples itself?
I'm reasonably limited with hotels as need room for 6 people and all have to be in 1 room but suggest locations please and I can see what the book g sites throw out.

I am not sure why all six need to be in the same room. That's a lot of people. I think you may ony fit into a suites chain-Homewood Suites, Embassy Suites and Residence Inns are the one's I've used.

If you are looking for a base to explore from, I would rule out Sanibel. You need to cross over a bridge to get to the island and while it's convenient for seeing Sanibel (which is quite wonderful), it's not some where I would pick as a base. It's been years since I've been but I remember Fort Myers as having some sketchy area.

We stay at the Bellasera, they are apartments so a 2 bed one would accommodate 6 of you.

I cannot think of anywhere on Boca Grande Island which would suit you.

Thanks Hank. It also seems like a good bit longer of a drive from the Keys. Naples is already quite far so perhaps this would be too far.

Is there any place in this general area which is nicer than the other? Or Naples "nicest" (subjective I know)
