Baymont Inn and Suites - off i-drive

Just looking at numerous off-site options for early next year and this place has popped up a couple of times, but I have never heard of it before.

Reviews are mixed, main plus point is it includes breakfast.

Has anyone stayed here that could give me an honest opinion?

We are doing universal mainly this trip so location is pretty good

Thanks

We stayed there in June.

The location is excellent, i trolley stop outside and a short walk to the Orlando Eye (or whatever it is called this month) Universal is about 25 minutes walk up the road or you can get an Uber for about 8 dollars.

The room was fine - standard budget hotel with comfortable beds. The only issue with the room was the keycards for the door, sometimes they didn't work. It was clean though and the cleaners did a great job. Usual small fridge and decent sized TV in the room. Wi Fi was free and generally decent (did drop out at times)

Hotel has a gym and a relatively small pool. We didn't use the pool as we went to Volcano Bay a lot.

Breakfast was ok. Egg patty things, pancakes, sausage circles, muffins and pastries, juice, toast - not fine dining by any stretch of the imagination but good enough to set you up for the day. The only issue here was how crazy busy it got but that isn't the fault of the hotel.

Staff were a mixed bag - most were great but one lady on the front desk was rude/ignorant more than once and in my view needed to consider a career that isn't customer facing...

We paid next to nothing for the hotel as got a last minute deal which cost less than i would have expected the flights to cost. I think 40 or 50 quid a night would be realistic.

Would i stay there again? Yes if it was cheap.

(Note - it isn't owned by Baymont. It is a franchise that just uses their name)
