The big ribbons aren’t for me either but each to their own.
We got a new door last year I attached an upside down suction cup with hook on the inside and some of the thin gift ribbon to the wreath which I hooked over the top of the door and on to the hook. The ribbon was thin enough to allow the door to close no problem

Another not keen on the door bows. Don’t like them personally.

Hopefully the felt on the back of a wreath option is something that could work for you.

They are very Essex, very" in" a few years ago. Believe it or not the council provided some for some new social housing they built. That caused some comments I can tell you. 😂

We use a Command hook on our door. When you take it off the glue strip just pulls off with out damaging anything.
