Alternative to Go Pro

My son has asked for a Go Pro for Christmas- I can’t afford the real thing. Does anyone know any alternatives that are as good, do the same thing?

Thanks

You can get alternatives on amazon for about £50. I started off with one of these, it was OK enough but upgraded to a proper go pro last year and you can tell the difference. Perhaps if you cant get the latest model of go pro you could get an older version, 8 or 9. Will be cheaper than the hero 10 and just as good. Maybe look to ebay for a second hand one. If you do go for a cheaper alternative use more basic settings to save battery life and don't go over 1080 res, the ones that claim to manage 4K don't film at 4k very well and eat battery and memory.

You can get an older GoPro for around 200£, though not sure if that’s within your budget. Certainly better than the 350-450£ price tag for the newest one.

I just got a GoPro 8 black for 235£ with a GoPro chest strap.

SJ cam. My son has one that he uses for track days in his car. We used it in discovery cove too. Avoid anything really cheap as we bought a generic one which claimed to be 4k but was terrible.
