Has anyone vlogged?
I was thinking about vlogging, mainly for fun but also to show all the disability stuff at DLP, as maybe it was just me but there isn’t too much on it on YouTube.
I have a camera, so it wouldn’t cost me anything, just my time I guess. I also have an instagram for Disney stuff, which I’ve only just started, just to share trip stuff. So would put some stuff on there too. I feel like I’m gonna look like a bit of tit, but I think it’ll be fun. Has anyone done it? |

Definitely vlog for fun primarily, it's a bit of work but doing it because you enjoy it makes it all the more worth it... i think showing the disability stuff is a good angle and people will find that helpful. It's really rewarding to get comments from people who find your videos helpful.
There's a lot of effort in the editing so it's worth taking some time to find a good editor that you're comfortable with. |

I had this grand idea to go a vlog when we went to Tokyo, but it all fell apart when I thought I have no idea what to say.
You, however, have a "point" to your video and thus it should greatly help - go on, give it a go |

We don’t vlog but we do holiday videos. More for our own enjoyment than anything, but they are on YouTube.
We tend to use music rather than talking a lot, and we don’t do selfies! A auggestion - have a go but just do it for yourself initially. If you decide it is intruding on your enjoyment, or you aren’t happy with how it turns out, then you can just stop.

I absolutely love it but it is sooo stressful! I had a lot of months off this year because I was getting anxiety about having to upload consistently when my reality is that I have a lot else to do as well. I mean, I couldn’t even partake in as much Dibb time!
I had a serious conversation in bed the night before travel day in August where I said that I didn’t want to let my OH down. He’s been so supportive of me, buying equipment, editing software, etc but he reminded me that I wasn’t actually doing it for YT, it was for us and family, etc (though actually, it turns out that very few family members want to tune in anyway - I guess it’s like holiday snaps if you’re not interested in the destination). I turned the camera on the next morning with absolutely no hesitation and didn’t have a moment’s doubt for the duration of the “holiday”! I just needed to know that if it didn’t turn out as planned, we were ok and he wasn’t constantly thinking about how much money we’d invested in me. It helps me massively because, I’d remember so little of what actually went on in the excited rush of theme parks if I wasn’t spending so much time editing after the fact! I’m perimenopausal and have struggled with brain issues such as remembering to ensure the camera is actually recording when I’ve pressed record… there have been some moments, let me tell you. But I really am enthusiastic about others joining in on this, it’s remarkable to see yourself as you never have before. Also, all those little moments with my boys, the looks between each other, the ‘in jokes’, the utter chaos. The memories. I think that vlogging for yourself still takes the best shape when talking to the camera because you’re talking to your future selves too. I hope you take the plunge if it still sounds like it might be fun! 😆

I have a few bits on the trip we're just editing where I have footage of the floor as I'm walking around, then the bits where I'm meant to be recording, I'm not 🤣

Me and My daughter have Vlogged a few trips now, but it's for our own personal viewing to look back on, it's not on Youtube. We do it in a Borat Accent for fun, it's funny when we get strange looks from people passing by... We just film our day and then my daughter edits it after into a video of the week.

We vlog our Disney holidays and some days out with have,
we just do it for the memories really. We are not that good at it and don't take it very seriously at all.
