My house insurance with Direct Line covers my children's possessions whilst they are at Uni - I called the other day to double check.

This is great unless the student lives in an area prone to breakins, you can end up losing your no claims on the house insurance because the student house suffered a break-in.

Like others we used Endsleigh, I seem to remember it being sub £50 for a year including laptop cover

I have a feeling we either have it protected or I have to have claimed 3 times then it would be reviewed. Whilst they’re in halls this year I don’t think that would be an issue, but thanks for the prompt.

Our home insurance wouldn't cover for private rented accommodation. When I was looking last month, Endsleigh had stopped doing contents insurance, they would only insure gadgets through protect my bubble. We ended up using Urban Jungle

We've also used Urban Jungle for DD. That was just a month ago and she hasn't actually moved into her new student house quite yet so I can't comment on how good or bad they are. Hopefully we'll never have to put in a claim with them.
