Taken from a site

This is a monumental change from Sky, which pioneered the ability to record shows, pause and rewind live television with its ground-breaking Sky+ box back in 2001. But unlike Sky+ and its successors, Sky Glass doesn't come preloaded with gigabytes of storage, so you won't be able to record your favourite episodes and movies in the same way.

Instead, the Record button on the redesigned remote has been ditched in favour of a new + symbol. Tapping this button will add a show to your Playlist.

Yes that's what he said to me yesterday, they have a lot of hidden extras that you need to pay.

That can't be true.
Paying £5 monthly to skip ads after the first year is bad enough !

Interesting

Having looked at the specs, it's an interesting concept.

I like the idea of the surround sound without the need for a separate sub woofer.

However 2 things for me seem to be a negative;
1. Lack of usb ports. The inclusion of only 1 usb port that being usb c and charging only means i can't connect a usb stick to watch movies from etc.
2. Lack of hdd. Unlike Sky Q, you jave to stream everything, nothing recorded.

Maybe if they bring out a version with ports then...

All Sky need to do is market the app on a stick for £30, or free even.
Then people can plug it into any TV.

Sky does have the Streaming Pucks which seem to be independent of the SkyGlass TV, so they could sell you a subscription package including a Puck, at present though, that's not an option. They obviously want to market the more expensive TV first. I wonder if the pucks will be available as stand alone at some future date?

Asked on Sky Chat about the charge to activate the Soundbar ?
The soundbar partially works but for the Atmos sound the charge is £5 per month.

Chat suggest it can be priced up in a package discount so you are not charged, same as the charge for skipping adverts after the first year.
The Sky Glass website now lists the updated charges apparently.

I wonder if Atmos is available from other (non Sky) source inputs to the TV if you don't have the extra Sky subscription to enable Atmos.
